Transitioning from single property to multiple

As a single property, "accidental landlord". The thought of being a multi property owner had never really crossed my mind. Is there anyone out in the community that has any advice, tips, suggestions on the next steps in getting the right information on possibly pursuing more investment properties? 

I'm sure it will be very difficult to talk my wife into venturing down this path, but I figured if I could go gather as much information as possible on this topic, maybe we could really sit and think about taking the next step.
