Tenant wants to install a window AC

One of my tenants asked if they can put a window AC unit in one of the bedrooms. The room gets pretty warm in the summer, so I understand why they want one, but I'm a little nervous about the installation and potential water damage.
Has anyone allowed this before? Do you just approve it with some rules around how it's installed, or is it better to avoid it altogether?

I would personally go for it, especially if that room has a history of getting hot in the summer (a fan will only do so much).Reply by Josh Winders
I agree with @[cmsnjz971004ari0mshh10yfp](Alexa Abbott), I would allow it as well. I would be happy your tenants even asked. Just talk to them about it and make sure its installed properly, it will benefit them mostly if its installed properly (their room will stay cool).Reply by Daniel M.
@[cms3npjrs000rqy0mxqcevcnt](Amanda T.) I think that's probably the route I'd take too. We’ve allowed window units before, but I’d definitely want to approve the specific unit and make sure the installation is secure and won’t cause any issues with water getting into the property. Having those expectations in writing upfront can save you a headache later.
