So, I am looking forward to possibly be trying to find new renters for the first time and thinking about all the stuff that goes along with it. And clearly taking photos and staging the property is a large part of marketing.

If I don't want to pay a professional, does anyone have any tips on how to stage and getting the right photos?

Natural light is your best friend. And framing. I would research framing online. You can get some great tips from photographers who know what they're talking about. Watch YouTube videos.

And I know this sounds trite, but look at your pictures and ask yourself if you would be interested in the property based on the images in front of you. If you wouldn't, then try again.

If you like the way your current tenants have furnished their apartment consider asking them for some pictures! I'd also suggest at least looking at a professional photographer. I was surprised that it wasn't as expensive as I was expecting, and it made a huge difference in demand on the listing sites for us.

If you're looking for actual items to stage the home with, I would personally scour some garage sales or thrift stores. A lot of the time, you can get a great deal on some quality stuff! It's a bit more work to find bits and pieces on your own, but you save yourself money in the long run and end up with a much cozier space
