Living in house flip?

Has anyone decided to live in the house they are flipping before to save money? Was this not worth the hassle of dealing with contractors in and out of the property? My husband and I are seriously debating on what to do. We currently rent, but have the funds to purchase a home that we could live in for a year and slowly rehab it. The idea definitely excites us but we're wondering if we're going to be in for a dose of reality if we actually go through with it... would love to hear others' experiences with this

I've never done it myself, but I've had friends who did. They all said it saved money, but living in a construction zone got old pretty quick. If you go that route, I'd just make sure the kitchen and at least one bathroom are usable before tackling the rest. Makes life a whole lot easier.Reply by Eli Morrow
I don't think that the money saved is worth the cost of my sanity. I would go crazy so fast with contractors in my space, and to add on top of that, the space itself isn't finished. If it was for a couple of weeks... then maybe. Or if I couldn't financially make any other route work... Then sure. Otherwise, I'd stick with finishing the space before trying to live there. Just my two cents.
