How do you track expenses across multiple properties

I'm juggling spreadsheets, receipts, and separate bank accounts for six properties and it's becoming flat out overwhelming at tax time. What system or software has actually simplified this for you?

Hi Sean,
Separate bank accounts are a good idea in my opinion, but dedicated accounting software like REI Hub or Ledgre lets you feed all your accounts into a single place. You can then track income & expenses at the property, entity, or portfolio level. We used Ledgre last year and found it great for this purpose. Good luck!

Dedicated rental accounting software is usually what finally makes it click. Ledgre and REI Hub are both built for this and let you feed all your accounts in and track everything by property.
One habit that helps no matter what you use: log expenses as they happen instead of saving it all for April. Snap a photo of the receipt the day you get it and future you will be grateful.
