Has anyone else noticed how expensive even small repairs are getting? Like, a basic appliance fix or plumbing call feels double what it used to cost. Feels like every time something breaks, I’m holding my breath before seeing the bill.

Yes. I feel the same way! Even small fixes seem to rack up a huge bill.

I live in ND we have some of the lowest unemployment numbers in the US and have been that way for some time. Wages are nuts, especially for skilled labor. It's not going to get any better any time soon, as skilled people retire.

I have purchased so many special tools and equipment so I (and employees) can do more and more of the work without hiring in a pro.

The worst part is I have hired pros to do work that didn't get done right, and I had to come back and do it right. Of course, I'm billed top dollar for incorrect work. I pay it because if you fight with them, they won't do future work for you.
