Add Signature Field, for applications

Hello,
I’ve run into this issue several times...when I call a prospect’s previous landlord or employer, they often refuse to share info without a signed document.
My application does include a question that says:
I authorize all current and previous landlords or employers listed on this application to share any information regarding my tenancy or employment with Masci Prop., LLC or its agents.
Applicants can type “YES”
But that’s not enough for some companies (especially corporate ones). And Innago does not offer a signature field on their applications. Has anyone found a workaround for this?
Here’s my application link for reference:

We have a separate form that the applicant has to physically sign. They can scan and send it back to me via email...but it has to to have a "wet signature."

Thank you for your reply. So to clarify. After, you applicant sends in their innago application. You send them an email directly (outside of the innago system) with a form (pdf) that they have to sign, scan, and then email back to you?

I'm curious. What's the signature for?

In the past when I called a prospective tenants previous residence to ask questions and check references. The residence wouldn't tell me anything unless I had a signed document from the tenant saying they could disclose information to me.

I agree...I have had this issue as well. The ability to have an electronic signature for release of infomation for previous landlord references and employment confirmation would be very helpful.

Just wanted to pop in here with a link to our Background Check Authorization form. Many landlords have this problem, so we created this resource!
You can download and edit it here: /assets/background-check-auth-form/

Thank you for this form template, But this does not help the fact that many prospective tenants do not natively have a way to electronically sign something and send it back to landlords. Is there a way to send this to applicant within innago (so they can sign it easily from their phone or computer) ?

Hey Michael, we appreciate you reaching out and being active in here!
I just double checked with the team, and currently there is no way to do what you are describing. Only tenants you actually put into the system are able to be sent documents that can easily be signed by the tenant online using HelloSign in Innago directly.
The only thing you can currently do with your application is initials I believe. This is something I am going to bring up to our product team as I definitely see the hole this creates in your process, and I'm sure some states may have some regulatory rules regarding this as well. Hopefully this is a feature we can add but I cannot say for certain on a timeline.
Our apologies for this and just let me know if you have any further questions or anything.

The form is part of the application package. They sign it at the same time they sign the application.

But there is no way to sign the innago applications. So how are the prospective tenants digitally signing it?
